CSULB CENTENNIAL SCHOLARSHIP (formerly known as Millennium Scholarship)

  • Up to twelve (12) annual $2,500 Centennial (formerly known as Millennium) scholarships are awarded annually
  • Current CSULB students who attended a Long Beach area high school and are not currently receiving a Rotary Scholarship
  • Applications are through the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office at CSULB

DON TEMPLE FAMILY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: AEROSPACE ENGINEERING

The Temple Family Charitable Foundation established a scholarship to honor long-time Long Beach resident, entrepreneur and philanthropist – Don Temple. The purpose of this scholarship is to support an upper division, CSULB Engineering student with preference for Aerospace Engineering or related field.

  • Must have graduated from a Long Beach area high school or have lived in Long Beach for at least one year when graduating from high school (preference will be given to Long Beach area high school graduates);
  • Must be a current full-time student, in good standing, enrolled at CSULB;
  • Must be currently enrolled in Upper Division classes in the College of Engineering;
  • Must be majoring in Engineering. Preference will be given to Aerospace Engineering or related field;
  • Must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units or more;
  • Recipients of this scholarship can only receive one Rotary Club of Long Beach Scholarship at the same time.
  • Recipients of this scholarship can only receive one Rotary Club of Long Beach Scholarship at the same time.

Additional Information: This scholarship is renewable for up to four (4) semesters provided the recipient maintains scholarship eligibility.

LARRY AND HELEN HOAG FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

The Larry and Helen Family Scholarship was established in 2025 to benefit students attending California State University Long beach (CSULB) that major in Business Finance.

  • Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Applicant must be attending CSU Long Beach.
  • Applicant must be a 3rd, 4th, or 5th year student at CSU Long Beach.
  • Applicant majoring in Business Finance. Preference will be given to a student who has taken Real Estate classes.
  • Recipients of this scholarship can only receive one Rotary Club of Long Beach Scholarship at the same time.
  • Application through Beach Scholarships

MARK BIXBY LEADERSHIP AWARD

  • One time $5,000 award.
  • Awarded annually to a current Long Beach Rotary Scholarship Foundation recipient who has successfully completed two (2) semesters as a Rotary Scholar.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 12 units and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA
  • Application available on March 1st.
  • Application deadline is March 31st.

SHERMAN FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

The Sherman Family Scholarship was established in 2025 to benefit students attending California State University Long Beach (CSULB) planning to major in interior design, interior architecture or industrial design.

  • Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Applicant must be attending CSU Long Beach.
  • Applicant must be a 3rd, 4th, or 5th year student at CSU Long Beach.
  • Applicant majoring in interior design or architecture.
  • Recipients of this scholarship can only receive one Rotary Club of Long Beach at the same time
  • Application through Beach Scholarships

THERON H. SLAUGHTER, M.D. SCHOLARSHIP

In 2010 a program was added for students in health related fields, preferably nursing, at both LBCC and CSULB funded by the estate of Bill Slaughter in memory of his father, Theron H. Slaughter, M.D., the former Chief of Staff at Long Beach Community Hospital.

  • Up to two (2)  two year $2,500 per year scholarships
  • Awarded annually to CSULB students currently enrolled in a health related field of study
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 12 units and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA
  • Currently participating in clinical work in a Long Beach area Hospital
  • Preference given to students who attended a Long Beach area high school
  • Applications for the Theron H. Slaughter M.D. Scholarship are through the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office at CSULB

CSULB GRADUATE STUDIES SCHOLARSHIP

Current Rotary scholarship recipients who have completed their bachelors degree and are planning to continue graduate studies at CSU Long Beach have the opportunity to continue receiving their Rotary Scholarship. Contact scholarships@LBRSF.org to verify eligibility.
